Westerns
Mar.31.2011 01:27 Filed in: News

We’ve added 5 more bags to the store! These were inspired by food, wooden door hinges, the sea, and Westerns. Despite the constant references to the sea, we are deeply rooted and in love with Westerns--hence our banner. Born and raised in Texas, we have instilled in us the warmth and romantic cultures of the South.

Hi Everyone!
We’ve added another bag to our General Goods Store. It’s made of raw leather, antique brass buckles and zippers, and 100% cotton canvas. The inside is fully lined with multiple pockets for organized compartments. Check it out! Thanks.

Mother Earth
Mar.23.2011 08:16 Filed in: News
New York has gone from warm to cold to snow to sleet in a couple of days. Scary. This is nothing compared to the global catastrophes that’s happened in the past 8 years--from what I can really remember, Thailand til Japan. Via our surfing teacher and friend Reid in Hawaii, he’s been following satellite maps for 12 years now and Mother Earth has been trying to send us a message. She wants to purge herself clean.

This is a simulated image of the 8.9 quake. This intensity within Earth, the fire, is of itself a cry for help...for peace. Even within the art world, these colors represent the opposite of calm, cool, peace. There is absolutely no balance, no Ying and Yang, no Ewam. “Mother Earth is alive and wants to live. She wants mankind to help and make it happen, not turn us into a lonely planet.” Please do your part. “Let’s act, not react.” (~Reid Inouye)
Along the same lines, April is coming up and it’s National Volunteer Month. Even though it’s acknowledged in April, try to volunteer more than this month. It’s our community, our People, our Earth, our Peace. An activist once told me, “even if it’s just making photocopies, the smallest acts make the biggest difference.” Annie and I hope that each one us can do our part, no matter how big or small, to make someone else’s and Mother Earth’s life happier, more peaceful, stronger, smarter, all around, Better. Please don’t forget to always give back. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
xoxo,

Maybe it’s because I’m a *fish, maybe it’s because I’m drawn to the connections of raw materials, to animal chain, to nature, to Life as a whole, but this is one of the most beautiful art/hooks I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you Shawn Davis.
SMILE!

Today, MOMA design store made me smile...a little too much. Look what I picked up!

If you were an 80/90s teen, you’d understand how important mix tapes were to your budding love life. How good your tape was often determined whether you got your girl/guy or not. I love how Enormous Champion did a re-mix of this idea on paper. SMILE!

Meet CAO MARU! The stress relieve ball that reminds you to always SMILE!

When he made me laugh aloud non-stop at the MOMA store, that’s when I decided to take him home. SMILE!

NOAH’S ARK by IGOLLFINI DELLA NONNA

Looks like Dipped Candy!

Chigo Playthings Bowling set
Imagine a room full of playthings arranged in floor to ceiling bookcases on all walls with rollling ladders. Big wooden chests on the floor with a mini corner of picture libraries, mostly children’s book, fill the room with warmth and color. I do. I imagine =)

To all the lovely women in the world,
Not enough words can ever describe the immense strength, courage, and love carried by a woman through the silence of her Walk and the invisible weights on her shoulders. We are lucky to be one of you.
Thank you.

Introducing AIRA’s sister line, the General Goods Store.
For now, AIRA will be taking a hiatus from its Contemporary line. With our travels and what we feel best for us now, we have decided to concentrate on creating a mini collection of accessories. As always, forever with quality and love inspired by the current ‘air.’
Please check back for new products and thanks for your constant support for AIRA. And of course, we will keep blogging about inspirations and current news.
Love,

I am always attracted to wood and metal, separate and apart. This amazing Brooklyn Furniture company takes this form of art to the highest level of craftsmanship. If there is humbleness to inanimate objects, I feel it when I see their work. It is modern yet understated. It gives you a feel of home with just enough clean lines, but its imperfections is what makes it beautiful.
